I spliced in a new connector to wheel speed sensor and it fixed my ABS/TCS issue for about a week. Still looks ok (maybe it's another wheel, happened after a big temperature change, snow in wheel wells turned to ice) ... I just used butt splice connectors and a bunch of electrical tape. Going to take it a back apart and solder it/heat shrink.
Main question, what is the purpose is the black plastic piece near the connector? I assumed it was some kind of fancy swivel joint, think clock spring, but when I opened it before it's just a "U" that curves the wires around. Is it just for wire organization? I think I may need to not use since the factory wires from the sensors are getting pretty short now and I don't think the soldered joint will bend well inside it
Not quite the same as this image but similar:

Side note a lot factory slips holding the hardness down are gone so I zip tied it, but it may have shifted and was off just enough pull the splice apart in a corner
