Question about replacing TCC Solenoid (P0742)

Hey guys so apparently I have come across the P0742 eroor code:Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Circuit Stuck On.

Car:
2000 GTP

Small backtrack:

It started yesterday when driving. My trans would make a low whining noise, like that of a SC. When accelerating from a light the car would buck then have a rough time accelerating, then the check engine light came on. Later that day when driving home I don't think the gear engaged because the RPM would go up to 3 and four with no acceleration what so ever. So I bring it to my buddies house to check the error code it threw. We cleared the code (which was the P0742) and drove it to see if it would throw it again. The car seemed fine for a little while and then all the symptoms came back. After doing some research, it seems that the 4T65E-HD has this common problem with the most frequent fix is doing the TCC Solenoid. I drove it back home and it became more frequent that the gears don't engage and it would shudder . My buddy let me take the scanner so that I could clear the codes when I couldn't drive the car.

Question:

1)Is this just a TCC Solenoid replacement or could it be something else?
2)When doing the replacement of the TCC what is the part number? When searching on Rock Auto it shows many TCC Solenoids but I can't figure which one is the right one to get.
3)Since replacing the solenoid requires dropping the trans, are there any other solenoids or parts that I should be replacing (like Torque Converter or TSS)?

Thank you for your time guys, I really do appreciate it. I wanna get my baby back on the road...

And you don't have to fully drop it out. You can lower it a little to get in there.

I'd suggest
EPC/PCS
TCC
4th hub shaft (if you are pre 03)

Then for the install, search on my name and "e a s y" without the spaces.

Replaced the tcc the two shift and pcs solinoids but the car seems to shift kinda hard. Also first seems to not grab all the way and the revs go 3-4 with little power gain. When I shift manually through first and second it seems to do a lot better. Check engine light came on ands will check it soon but I'm guessing it's the p0742 again. Any ideas?

In one of these links, I think it's a ways down, there is info on how many ohms etc to see at X degrees etc etc. You can use that to test the wiring to the soleniods as well as getting a ballpark if the soleniods are bad etc.

Since you are getting this code, it would seem that the pcm is seeing the tcc sticking or being commanded etc. ... checking on a hunch about how the release happens, I came across this.

Might give you the info you need to fully figure out which part is bad.
