question about noise with my intake?

2000GTP

I recently bought a K&N FIPK2 Cold Air Intake, and installed it on my car, everything seems great with it except that when the engine is cold it makes an odd suction noise, not the normal suctioning noise of when the engine is warm. I am probably just being paranoid, I just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this also.

The engine idles higher and will be pulling a lot more air when the engine is cold. Thus, the sucking noise is much louder when on a cold start and will quiet down as the engine warms and the idle speed falls. Perfectly normal.

I only have a intake on the GTP and my Ram. Don't hear it on the truck though. Guess it depends on the engine. You have much done to the duramax? I've seen some that would straight out haul @$$.

Not a whole lot, but I don't own the truck anymore. Sold it not too long after I got the Imp. No need for it and couldn't afford the gas.

I hear ya on that. I never thought I'd see the day that diesel was more expensive than premium. Pretty much the reason I didn't get one when i bought my truck.

Sometimes it's a good thing. Some people just throw a different noise out the window and pay it no mind and causes them more problems in the long run.

i'm paranoid about noises. heh. i know what my car sounds like, and if i hear anything (even off another car) i crank the radio down and just listen. heh.

same here, i remember one time when i was going down the road there as a car next to me and its like he wouldn't move past me and i kept on hearing a strange noise so i slowed down, so it seemed like he slowed down turned down the radio still couldn't tell if it was me or him so i ended up just stopping on the side of the road real quick waited for all the traffic was gone and then started driving again to find out it wasn't me... talk about being paraniod lol

Here is my question: Does anybody elses GP kinda hesitate when you first start out, and you give it a fairly acceleratable foot petal rate, and it like bogs down, and then it will get going after a few hesitant moments? (This only happens on like the first start of the day, or if it has been sitting without running for quite a while)
I have an ebay HAI currently installed, I'm just waiting till I have some time to put in the Thrasher, cause I have to remount my Coolant tank at the same time.

Yea, mine seems to do it if I take off right after I start the car after sitting. If I let it run for a minute or two after the rpm's drop, it doesn't do it. Is it normal, I'm not sure, has it giving me any problems, none that I've seen.
