Question about installing DIC in 02 GP GT

hey all,

New around here, I acquired a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix with 305,000 miles (according to odometer) and have replaced most fluids oil/transmission/etc and I installed in a Transgo Shift kit as well. Everything works on the car, haven't found anything that doesn't except cruise control but I fixed that thanks to this forum.

Anyways, I ordered a DIC (with Trac not TCS) from Morad's that includes the pigtail. It was pulled from an 02 GT and I'm planning to replace my analog DIC. I have seen pictures / know where to find the VSS wire as well as the data line from the OBD2 port but I'm not sure where to find a B+ (Orange / constant battery) wire in that area. I haven't pulled the dash yet but does anyone know where the easiest location to tap into is?

Also, my instrument cluster is having an issue so I bought another one to replace it with, is there anyway to tell if it has been replaced before? Due to the condition of the car and how it runs I just can't believe it has 300k miles on it... The new cluster came out of a 98/99 GTP will I have any issues with compatibility?

Thanks!

Cluster should swap fine.

I don't know anything about the DIC swap though, I guess pulling it apart and seeing what wiring you have to deal with might answer a question.

I've been through that a dozen times and also the one on automotive forums, most of the pictures aren't available any more and the one person that did mention where he found his B+ (Orange) wire said he got it from the back of his aftermarket deck, which I don't have. Thanks though.

Was just trying to see if anyone had installed one and knew of a definite place to find it so I don't have to go digging around.
