Question about charging the A/C (97 GT)

Is there a low pressure switch I can jumper to get the compressor to turn on so I can recharge the A/C (had to fix a leak)?

I noticed the A/C wouldn't turn on one day (the light won't turn on when I push the button, all fuses are good) and I found a leaky schrader valve at the service port. It still had refrigerant, but was low. I fixed the leak, and now have to get it recharged. I'll pull a vacuum and suck in a can, followed by another sitting in hot water (to boost the pressure), but will that give me enough pressure to allow the system to be turned on?

Thanks!

Yes the compressor will eventually stop powering on if you are to low. Following the directions on one of the bigger cans important to get one with the gauge on it. Leave the A/C on high and fill until you are in the green DO NOT GO PASS THE GREEN! It may actually already be filled but there is a clog in your system good luck sir
