• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Question about 04+ intake.

That's what I figure, and if all else fails and it wont hold in, I'll wrap some tape around that mother effer :th_laugh-lol2:

Thanks a million for putting up with me and bein such big helps, guys... I swear stuff never ever goes simply for me.

If you haven't done it already, the clip your talking about that is. The clip slides out towards the front the car. Then the center of the gray part pulls up, then you pull the connector out toward the front of the car. And post pics when you get it done.

I havnt done it yet since it's been crappy weather out, and I like to enjoy working on my car with the warm sun on my back, so I've been waiting, lol.

If I can get my good camera working I'll definitely get some pictures of it in the process of taking it off, since it seems not everyone has that clip.

I was planning on pulling it out towards the front of the car, that's what I was doing but it wasnt moving and I was afraid to break it... so atleast I know now I can put more force on it without breaking it off... hopefully sometime next week it'll warm up a little, if not I'll just suck it up and do it in the garage, lol.

Thanks for the info

I've been reading how-to's for weeks but I cant find any answers to these specific questions, it seems like all the how-to's on intakes are geared towards 03 and earlier, I see what they did with the vac line... I guess I could just drill a hole to match the size and then put some kind of sealant on there...

But I still dont know what the little canister to the underside of the air box is, front of the car... tube running from another thing on the top, rear, center of the engine, then another tube going from the thing under the airbox to the part of the airbox after the filter.

What's this thing to the lower left of the picture?
that is the egr and the best thing to do is throw a 9 inch long filter onto your maf thats about $35 and i get 19lbs. of air at wot and its cool air and as for the arrow thats the brake booster

and as for the connector for the tb that tab can be pushed out from the otherside by a flathead i have to do this all the time just be carefull it'll fly away from you

To the OP I did the same thing as mentioned above drilled a hole for it and left it in. Mine is made out of metal so it was a little more difficult but it all works the same

here's mine
ba5eee81.jpg

3" to 4" coupler.
4" pvc 45* pipe
4" to 3" coupler.
maf
cone.

drilled a hole for the pcv valve in the 3" to 4" coupler after i had marked where it needed to go.

batten down the hatches and you're good to go

That's pretty much what I did except Mine is 22.5 degrees and is 3" on the inside.

That set up is much nicer that my ghetto homemade k&n style I'm copying that this weekend, keeping my roof flash as a heat shield of course. :th_thumbsup-wink:

This guy said it. Last weekend I cleaned my MAF and TB and on of the clips went flying but luckily I found it.
