Quest for 300whp to 350whp and more!! On M90 Blowers!!!

2.8 pulley with 22* of timing

I have this car now thanks to greg! I love this car and I havnt even got to run it on E85 and baby pulley, its on 3.4 and pump gas tune right now, soo much fun to drive and Im itching to get it swapped over to E85 and 2.8 very very soon. Also it will be going to the track here in the DC area this summer too!

Good luck with your setup and hope you track it also!

Im in Alexandria, Ive been to MIR and heard of Capitol Raceway but have not been to it. Where are you at would be cool to meet up with some local W body people out here. Im out here until 2015 working with the military. Stopped at the speed shop right outside of Andrews Air Force base last weekend seems like they will get some business from me if they fill nitrous bottles and stock Mickey Thompsons!................

Scanned the car with aeroforce and it showed I have a tps that needed a replace along with other issues but that was the issue it wouldn't start the code still comes on tho smh what's the problem ?

To answer your earlier question....Stock TB, I've never been a fan of the N* bandwagon. At 330whp and 16.5psi I was about to max out the MAF. Even then I'd still stick with stock TB and run LQ4 or LT1 MAF.

And for those N* bandwagon people tell me why turbo guys making 500+whp aren't running that precious N* and stick with stock TB with AFC.

I'm thinking 350-360whp....Come on guys with bone stock head and no IC I hit 330whp. Stage 3 heads and IC....should be good for 30whp more.

Local guy had a similar setup. Ran L36, NIC, SSIC, GenV, stage 3 heads, made 330~ iirc. I've heard of mild cam guys hitting 350 range non-intercooled.

Short Stack? Dayumm! !! Higher compression probably added to it along with a hell of a good tune ... iceman6669 350whp non intercooler? They have E85?

You can make 350 range but will need either e85 or an IC plus High Comp.

Ok guys finally fixed the issues with my motor and now im really feeling like seeing how far I can go with my setup current setup as follows
XP Cam
Double Roller
130# Springs
Stage 3 Ported Heads
SD Headers
N* lq4 combo
ZZP Stage 2 Intercooler
3.0 or 2.8 pulley along with 42 lb Injectors and a dyno tune
Oh and and GEN V her down the road

305-315whp SAE on a dynojet.

E85 makes a big difference on non-ic setups.

Still, the right cam/header/blower/tune/3" pulley setup should net you 300whp on pump gas. Intercooled should get you 330-335whp. If you're not making those numbers, you probably bought the inferior parts.

And for those N* bandwagon people tell me why turbo guys making 500+whp aren't running that precious N* and stick with stock TB with AFC.

Blow through versus draw through, big difference. Put a sensitive and accurate vacuum gauge on the 3 way fitting ontop of the supercharger, see how much the blower is struggling to draw air at WOT. I think a ported stock throttle body is fine for most Gen3 setups but I'm a believer in larger TB setups on a GenV swapped Series 2. I was setting people up with BBK 80mm LS1 units back when, since flipping the LS1 unit upside down worked great on a GenV, lots of hood clearance with an IC and no turndown, and brought the linkage and sensors to the correct sides.

Why is the BBK 80mm LS1 option not more common or well known?! I have a Gen5 car with stock tb on it and wonder if the gains would be worth it to switch especially considering nitrous here in the near future. I realize its going to need a tune if I change the TB but again with wanting to add a 75 shot another tune session would be in the plans anyways. Seems like something easy to be done if the gains are worth it.

LS1 setups used to be very common, ZZP sold kits, they were the original 75mm throttle body upgrade.

People started using Northstars because it was discovered the 2000+ Northstars used a nearly identical casting to the LS1, but the linkage and the IAC/TPS were on the correct side for an L67.

On a Gen5 swap however, the Northstar always has hood clearance issues. I used the like the LS1 Gen5 setups, because with the symmetrical Gen5 throttle body bolt pattern you can flip the throttle body upside down for hood clearance, and suddenly everything on the LS1 was on the correct side. You can flip the Northstar but if you do the linkage and sensors are on the wrong side, ala a typical LS1 setup.

Not all gen 5 intercooled cars have clearance issues with the North Star! Amazing what a 1/4" shorter intercooler will do.
