The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.
I had to use a power steering pulley puller to remove the pulley in place so I could remove the last long bolt for the water pump to replace it. I install the new water pump and when trying to re-install the power steering pmp pulley. The installer (a rental) is to long and hits the car frame. Does anyone have an
idea on what I can do to re-install the pulley. A Fabrication or Modification or anything that will help. Thanks for listening.:th_jester:
First, you didn't have to take the pulley off. The power steering pump pulley has holes in it so you can get to the two 13mm bolts that hold the pump to the block off to do the water pump. But, since you took the pulley off, I once made the same mistake. Luckily my motor was out of the car at the time. You should be able to find a bolt to thread into the pump shaft, then use a nut and some washers to press the pulley on
Thanks. Ive got a small threaded stud to thread into the power steering pump and was able to use the Installer I rented and Im putting everything back together today again thanks for the information and I will remember the 2 13MM bolts the next time because this way was to problematic.
you may want to put a metal straight edge across the pulleys to make sure its on far enough or not to far on, as if its mis aligned it will shred the belt over time, or sooner if its way off.
