put in boost guage now transmission is acting up

i put in a boost gauge .put a t in the back off the motor in the hose that goes under the snout to the rear toward the firwall and im only getting 2 or 3 lbs of boost showing on my guage but now when i drive more than 40 miles my car has trouble ****ing into 2 and acts funny when i stomp on the gas...whats the deal..?

Im not exactly sure that installing the gauge has messed up your tranny.

2-3 psi is to low, are you geting vac? if you are it should be around -18, my boost is around 7psi

97 trans are not as 'strong' as 98+.. 03 being the best of the 97-03's

Look at your Blower snout there is a small black vac. line under it. tap it there. :th_thumbsup-wink:

ok thank u josh..i think i prolly got a vac leak cause my trans was fine before i started to mess with the vac line i its fine till.i drive about 10 miles then when i take off getting on the throttle it has trouble shifting into 2 thats it so im sure the vac line has somthing to do with it..

As he said.. I had a vac leak and wouldnt shift till i took my foot off the gas.

good thats my problem..thanks to everyone..that is what is going on late shifting unless i let off the gas

just for safe measures in case u get it scanned.. u will probably have a throttle position sensor code. dont do what i did and buy 3 TPS's trying to fix the prob... my rubber T was popped completely off the lower intake mani... right under blower snout..

i just got a boost guage and the vacuum hose with it.. when i tap into that hose under the snout do i just cut a hole and put the hose in, or should i get some connectors
