Thats not true you can switch and your motor will never know the differance. Like running a syn. blend which is a mixture of both oils. To the OP the only differance between 5w-30 and 10w-30 is that 5w-30 will flow better in below 0 temps. during a cold start up. After both oils are up to temp they are the same.
