Push button start conversion for 04+ (disability adaptation)

Has anyone done a conversion to push button start and been able to integrate it to their Passlock III? I wear a prosthesis for my right hand; when I try to start my 04 with my hook, the tension from the switch overcomes the return bands and my hook gets prised open rather easily! I could (and likely will) add more return bands, but instead of fighting with the car, I'd like to explore the push button option, lest I have so many bands I can't even use the hook! Meanwhile I'm starting the car with my left hand, as I've done for years, and also shifting out of Park (another issue I want to adapt)...

I think you could add a start button, but the key would just have to be in the on position. Atleast that is not as far to turn the key.

Because the key needs to be in the ignition to be able to pass the passlock system and to just make all the systems live, I don't have any idea how'd you'd get past that part of it if you didn't want to use the key at all.

The easiest way to not have to use the start position on the ignition switch would be to have remote start installed.

You still have to insert key and turn it to the on position. OP wants to (I think) not have to do anything with turning the ignition key in the switch. I may be wrong though.

ive seen the dash mounted key moved to a hole drilled to the left of the column.
i dont think youd have a problem doing the same

you could even put a power port/cigarette lighter in the old spot
