So the wife is looking at getting a 08 GP. Anything specific I should be looking out for with regards to it?

I assume i should look for the normal stuff LIM leaks, CV boots, bushings and any other leaks. Is there anything else we should be concerned with before purchasing?

It's an 08 and has 84K on the ODO. They want a **** hair under 9K for it. She has no intention of modding it performance wise. Will end up being her daily, but I'm sure we will throw on a set of wheels and enhance the appearance a bit.

I already told her she might wake up one morning to find my ugly ass tan interior in her car and her ebony interior in my car. :th_king-evil:

Re: Purchasing 08' GP what to look for?

I bought my 08 with 69k miles for $7999. And it had some minor scratches that you can barely see..... Car has been great for me. Take the engine cover off and check plug wires haha. I just changed mine and the 4 and 6 wires were melted to copper wire. Check for rust I guess. 08 shouldnt have any. And I would do the usual checks.

Make sure on test drive you get the car fully warmed up. Listen for ticks, knocks, etc. Get on it during drive. Listen to radio. I had bad rear deck speakers (by my standards)

With the new design I would say LIM wont be leaking, but how knows really.

CV, wheel bearings, ti rods, things like that.

Beat the piss out of it on the test drive so you know it wont break.

Base or GT?

There aren't a whole lot of problems with the 04+ that I've seen. Check the dex and make sure it isn't chunky. Make sure there's no coolant in the trans fluid.

I'm in Texas no rust under the car. :)

I figured as much.

It's a L26

In 08, there is no Stock Supercharged Grand Prix. The only models were the Base model, 3.8 3800. And the GXP V8.

Is there an echo in here?

Sounds like it'll be a good car. You can probably talk them down a bit on the price though.

Re: Purchasing 08' GP what to look for?

Well took a look at the car and it's in fairly good shape. Only issues I noticed were the common ones. Endlinks are cracked, one lp light is out. Passenger side CV axle was replaced at some point time. Trans and Oil gasket seem to be holding up fairly well. Oil, trans etc fluid look legit for the mileage. Wife is pretty damn excited so I'm happy for her. I know she's tired of driving her TaHOE because of the gas mileage. She thinks we are going to get it tomorrow, but I'm going to the bank after work and withdrawing the cash from my account. Should be a pleasant surprise for her. :)

Nothing special about this car, but I know GPF loves pictures. So I'll post some later this evening. Guess I should start looking at pictures of everyones 04+ ride so I can get an idea of how to make it look better. Feel free to post whore this thread to give me some ideas. :th_skull:

Gonna be kinda weird having 2 white GP's.

It's raining right now so I just took these from the garage:

Clean car, already begging for some black wheels and some tint.

'grats on the purchase man. Looks clean.

BTW, I hope you don't decide to install the rotors in that direction, they will be running the wrong way.... !!!!

Threadjack approaching...

Nice job jacking your car up with a box.

And to keep on track, I know its hard to find a set that isn't oxidized or peeling on the inside...

But I have always LOVED those Comp G wheels...
