pulley size?

just currious what the stock pulley size is on a 99 gtp? ive read up on everything and im still unclear and was wondering what the ideal pulley size would be for me to drop to? got autolite 104's plog, 3in catless dp, kn cone filter with 3.5 in pipe ran as far as i could with no bends, i know i need a tune i think i have one already but i want to buy a pulley so im ready for scan and tune asap thanks....:th_thumbsup-wink:
 


3.8" is stock pulley size. after a tune buy a modular pully system and you can maybe get away with a 3.6" pulley until you get rockers and perhaps some porting for a 3.4"
 
thats what i was lookin for i dont plan to get to crazy, its already fast what kind of a difference would i fell with a 3.6?
 
if i were you, i would just get all the requirements for the 3.4" setup, if you think its fast now then you will love the power you will have after
 
and another thing i was just looking on zzperformance web site and i said u could run a 3.5 on stock car? that dont seem right does it?
 


You can, is it good for it not really, will it blow it up probably not, do you get more power, no, Just some low end until the pcm starts pulling timing.
 
i wouldnt drop pulley sizes till at least get flow mods on, and my goal would be the 3.4" setup just beczuse its like the fist goal to reach as far as modding goes
 
i want to do a 3.6 pulley. mostly because i dont wanna burn up my tranny and i dont have the money right now for all the extra mods. my only problem is that the only pulley upgrades i see are 3.5 or lower. where could i get a 3.6? anybody know how much power i would gain with a 3.6 setup with supporting mods and a tune?

Look at pfyc.com, check out the pulley boys quick change system. You can get a 3.8" pulley if you like.

i see....so i couldnt tune out of kr? even with the plog? jw is it a big dif goin from stock to 3.4?

There is a deffinate diff in the stock 3.8 and 3.4 your flow mods are fine for a 3.4 set up just not beyond that

as long as you have 104 plugs 180 tstat and tune your pretty much fine I would scan for kr after though just to make sure
 
why do you guys care about how much power you get from a different pulley?

I'm willing to bet I could make more power on a 3.8" pulley than you could on a 3.4 or 3.6.

All depends on what mods you have with it and the engine itself.
 


idk about that.....more boost=more power, smaller pulley more boost.....

...since when? you dont know enough on the subject if that is your thought process. to a certain extent you are correct, but a car that is running more timing will not only 'feel' faster, but usually will be faster.

fueling > timing > boost

boost is the last thing you add to the system when you tune.
 
read what he said......i can make more power off a stock pulley didnt think it was possible, lets not get our pantys bunched up:)
