pull to right under acceleration

So the gtp is finally on the road. I have had some fun with the gas... and ive noticed that under heavy throttle, it pulls to the right, and when you let off it jerks to the left.
I was told the front right outer tie rod has movement in it and needs to be replaced, im thinking this might be the cause but im not sure.
The alignment doesnt seem too far off, but again not positive. the only other cause i can think of was that my brother said the rack and pinion has a bolt that sometimes comes loose.
any thoughts?

replace bad parts, replace that rack bolt, cause f that crap. get it aligned. should help out.

mix matched tire brands will do this also. as well as one soft tire.

and we all suffer from torque steer. jumping on the gas will make it pull to one side or the other some.

Had bad torque steer until new struts, springs, LCA's, sways, bushings, strut tower braces... Then gone! Lolz...

*not saying you'll have to do that, just that worn suspension components are less resistive to the forces exerted on them, be it torque steer or cornering/handling.

well the black boat did just hit 206k I think the struts were done at 150. Ill see what its doing after the tierod ends are replaced.

I was driving the car today , and it seems more like the steering is moving around rather than pulling to one direction. My Monte had torque steer but it was consistent. This also acts weird when the wheel turns sharp

if your tie rods are tight. it could be the rack its self. i just changed mine due to internal slop in the rack.

One of the tierods has movement in it, which i plan to replace this weekend. I just wasnt sure if that could be the culprit of if i need to order some more parts

just go over all the rack and rods, theres 2 per side, a inner and outer rods. they both can fail.

with both front wheels off the ground with a friend pushing and holding one wheel, i could feel the other side was tight, same for the other, but if i pushed the one side in and out, the other wheel moved with it, yet the steering wheel was not moving a one bit. all slop inside the rack. and boy oh boy was it pulling hard. like into the next lane.

where do you get a new rack from?
When you let off throttle did it jerk in the oppisite direction?

its always pulled a bit, i had installed a used rack 3 years ago or so. now since ive added a few mods it really started to pull, and yes, pull hard to the right, let of correct it get back in the gas and its now pulling hard the other way. it was a crap shoot what way it would pull when you first got in the gas.

this new rack i got from napa. tightened the front end up good.

i could also feel a click if i touched the drivers side front wheel, car off reached in key to run and rocked the wheel back and fourth. this turned into a loud click where the steering shaft meets the rack when rocking the steering wheel.

Definitely suspension related assuming you have the same tires on both sides of the car. Our cars have almost equal length axles so torque steer is minimal in my experiance. Try driving a car with one crazy long axle and one shorty. That is torque steer.

Old post, but this made me want to reply.

Recently the TQ steer in my car had been really bad. I've always had it and know what it but it's come to point where I can't even control it. If I get on it from a roll it will immediately go right and I correct it and the try to over corrected and so on. I look like I'm driving drunk...lol

Now I'm not sure if this is related but when I take off from a stop I feel my whole motor/trans move back. Then when coming to stop it will move again. Also hear a loud screech noise at the time when this happens. For sure something metal on metal is rubbing.
I really haven't had time to fool with, so just seeing if anybody had any ideas. I do plan on jacking it up tomorrow to see if anythings lose.

Control arms, struts, strut mounts, outer tie rods etc are pretty new. I mean there YEARS old but I only drive my car a couple 1000 miles a year.

I really hope it has nothing to do with the rack or axles. That's pretty much the only thing I haven't changed and not to knowledgeable on changing.
I first thought it was the rack at first because my steering had been pretty hard to steer for a long time but I'm really don't know.

Thanks

I forget to add I changed the lower mount last year. The trans mount is about 10 years old.

But after I posted this had me thinking that maybe jacking up motor so high to get the motor mount out, that maybe I messed up the trans mount. Going to see today.

check the strut mounts, aka upper dog bone mounts to the rad support.

pop the hood have some one shift in and out of gear so you can watch the engine.

if you have oil leaks the motor mount could be dead already.
