Ps problem

I have a 97 Pontiac Grand Prix se 3.8. The belt has been changed recently, which the car has been driving just fine after, so I thought. But I have noticed that when stopped at a standstill and turning to the right the steering is extremely had but when i turn to the left I have no problems, while driving the steering seems fine, there is no evidence of any leaks, What could be the a possible solution to this problem.

its can only be one or both of these two parts,

1 the power steering pump is bad, but that would be whining when you tun the wheels, if not chances are its still good. or low on fluid, cap is under the back of the alternator.

2. your rack and pinion is on its way out, if its hard to turn one way and easy to turn the other the rack is dying. and soon will be hard to turn both ways.

pumps cost about 70 bucks, the rack is a big part, up to 200 for a new one, and up, labor to install one, is retarded high as well, mine took me 4 hours to change, all by myself, but there's no room for any one else, so its a one man job.

i found a used rack for 75.
