• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Props to GM

Got another compliment tonight about my door speakers. Since I ran budget, I didn't bother replacing the door speakers (plus I'm lazy :P). Demo'd my setup for a guy that bought it, and they asked if I had new speakers in my doors, and I told them that they're all stock. They were amazed. I was just running them off two channels of a cheap Dual amp, so only 50 watts RMS. Only thing I can give GM some real credit to...probably one of the many great features of the GP.

Umm 90 dB @ 1 m @ 1 W speaker at 50 W at 1 m = 110.8 dB from a pair.

Thats plenty loud.

And I highly doubt the stock speakers with no excursion can reproduce even 100 Hz at that sound level.

No speaker without a fairly large voice coil can handle 150 watts RMS.

I'm not going to be putting the full 150 on 24/7. They do fine for me and sound fine, just adding power to have there as reserve. Gain will be set accordingly.

Huh?

sensitivity of 90 dB at 1 m at 1 watt.

then give the speaker 50 watts and listen at 1 meter (three feet roughly) and thats 110.8 dB to your ears from a pair of speakers.
