Proper Coolant Filling Procedure?

I am finishing up doing a flush and fill on my 02 GTP. There is a sticker under the hood that warns that you should fill the system in a particular way as outlined in the manual, but I can't find my manual. I filled the radiator from the cap and also filled the recovery tank. Is that it? I have read the mention of bleeders screws in other threads. Is that necessary? If so, where are they?

There is a bleeder screw on the thermostat housing. When I refill my coolant system, I open the bleeder then fill the radiator and overflow tank. I start the car and leave the bleeder cracked open until the engine gets hot enough to open the thermostat. As soon as I see coolant start to come out, I close it up.

Yup, what Silver said. :) I’ll just add that you should turn the heater to full heat for a while after reaching normal operating temperature. And be aware to only loosen the “inner” part of the thermostat housing bleeder. In reality with any luck at all you don’t really need to do anything, just keep an eye on the level for the next few days and use distilled water if you make the mix yourself.:th_thumbsup-wink:
