Project Soplado

Hello all, I'm a noob to the forum. I recently picked up a 03 Grand Prix GT for a project. I've always liked them and after driving my truck for last 3 years, I wanted something a little more fun to drive.

So I picked up this GP with a blown motor. it was leaking antifreeze and buddy keep putting water into it, then winter hit and it froze over. she burns anti freeze real bad, and has a bad miss. he also blow a frost plug out. I'm guessing the head gaskets or heads are cooked.

Anyways, I picked up a rotten GTP which has a good engine. I plan on doing a top swap, as long as the block is good in the N/A.

On with the pictures! oh... PS: Soplado is Spanish for "blown"

Got these LED Tails for free. The girlfriend also has a GP(you can see in the picture above) I ordered her a set of LED tails off ebay and they came chipped, so they sent me a new pair. well the chip isn't that bad, so I put these on my car! :)

After removing the side skirt, I found this... Rockers will be replaced.

Rocker rot is so common on these cars. If it's not a southern driven car, it probably has it. Anyway, good luck with the swap!

Yeah, I tired to find tails that looked closed to stock as possible. The stock tails were full of water, and it was cheaper to buy aftermarket.

Does anyone know where I can get the metal brackets that hold the side skirts on?

My new leather coach for the garage, I just have to mod the frame a bit.

no, if you look closely at the picture of it in the garage, you will see the car dollies on the front under the body, and wheels on the back. I took the wheels off on the truck. Worked mint and keep my garage floor from getting all scratched to hell.

So I got my donor engine tore down to find what you see below. So i'm probably going to use the old block and have the bottom end built anyways. That being said, I have the choice to run either the L67 or L36 pistons. So should I go higher compression, less boost. or higher boost, less compression?

I'm hoping this head will still be good. I'm going to take it to a local engine building shop and have them clean it up and check it out.
