Keep a solid late model "beater" 4x4 that you can share. Thats y'all's thing. But take the K down to more like SUV height, perhaps ditching the straight axle using late model or aftermarket components but sticking with 4x4. Late front frame clip? It would be unique and yank hard off the line. If you keep 70s car ground clearance, you could still go places too. But that with a topper and sliding back glass could be fun for a family. I wouldn't know, but theres one honest suggestion if you are that froggy. Kind of in keeping with what Stryker said...
You could fab a bolt-on arrangement to attach a front frame and just roll axle to air cleaner into storage and hack up a cheapo CL truck, and... yeah. The core support doesn't know what it sits on. Hmm, is all. You could snag another chassis to do this to, or... lots of options.
