Problems with "new to me" 7 band EQ head unit

OK, I picked up a 7 band EQ head unit with an mp3 jack installed on eBay. The unit sounds awesome using the CD player and mp3 player. Audio is much improved and has some extra bass ...enough to vibrate the mirrors. The only issue seems to be FM....the bass on it seems to be very overpowering unless the EQ sliders are all they way down. Is there a way to turn the factory amp down? I've felt all around the unit and can't find a knob. I don't think my 00 even had an amp.....unless it was behind the dash. Thanks!

Ok, I've had some success with setting the eq sliders in a "v" position and adjusting the far left slider almost all the way down.
