Problem with cylinder 1 spark plug.. keeps going bad!

My first problem was a rough idle, got the cylinder 1 misfire code from Autozone, did my research here, and replaced the spark plug. The problem was solved. Then, less than a year later, I had the same problem, and solved it by replacing the plug again! Why does this keep happening? I've asked a few car guys I know, and they had no idea. Does anyone have a suggestion or three? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Edit: I found a post HERE where they are blaming the oil consumption issue. They say oil in the cylinder is destroying the plug. I've read that GM now has a solution for the oil consumption issue, but how much is the fix? I have no warranty.

Not sure on the cost of the fix from GM.

But DoD is known to cause more oil eating than normal. GM says up to 1-2 quarts per ~3,000 miles is normal.

I would say the more miles on the car, the more its going to happen. But if you are only having the issue on 1 cylinder almost once a year, thats not really that bad IMO.

I'd yank out DoD and have it removed via a PCM tune.

Not only can you pedal a car to get better MPG's, but from what I've heard the factory files on the LS4 are awful.
