Problem: No headlight or tail lights!?????

I have a 86 grand prix 3.8 v6.
My problem is I have no headlight or tail lights but the brake lights and turn signals are fine. When i try to turn headlights on the check engine light comes on and the dash clock stops working??????
I have already tried replacing the headlight switch so that is not the issue.
Any ideas guys??? this is my daily driver so it kinda makes it hard to get to work at 3am with no lights......
 


Does anyone know where I can download the wiring schematics for this car? That may help me a lot. I know this prob has to be a short somewhere.
 
All i did was put the car on ramps to check for a short or loose wire and now they are working again???? This is really confusing me!!!
 
Sorry no one is posting you back, but there arent alot of 80s models here.Its probly a large short someware in your gp.I believe there are haynes manuals at autozone for your car but im not shure.They always have good schematics in them.
