Power steering whine on left turns only...

Strangest thing...

My power steering pump seems to scream when making moderate to hard turns - LEFT only. Never have this issue turning right. Anyone have this or have an idea as to what could be the issue and why only in one direction?

I'm also getting a loud "Clunk" or perhaps "Click" is a better way to describe when I turn the wheel. I read up on a TSB but wasn't sure if this was a critical issue or not....

Perhaps you need a power steering fluid exchange. You put in new fluid and suck out the old. You do this back and forth(while moving wheel back and forth) until the stuff you suck out is as close to clear as you can get. I don't know how much it costs because once i befriended a GM Tech i forgot people pay for these things?. :)
 
Or he could be low on fluid too. Or...its just the nature of the pump as some are louder than others.

The clunk though...that would be something to be worried about.

Yeah, the clunk is going to be looked at soon. I guess its an issue with the intermediate steering shaft which is quite common on the 04's and 05's...I guess they fixed it beyond that.
