I put a 99 in a 98 the alternator was different I an having trouble getting the pump to go in place. Does the 99 have a remote fill for the fluid it seems to be hitting the alternator bracket.

The alternator was different yes, but from 1997-2003 for sure were all the same power steering pumps. They bolt in at the same spot. Only thing that changes about the alternators besides the way they attach, is the lower aluminum bracket they connect to, those have to match the year of alternator.

I have a 1997, with a 2002 alternator on it, same stock power steering pump, in the same location.

Something is not right on your car.
