Power Locks Working intermittently

Power door locks started not working intermittently sometimes one will work sometimes all sometimes none.

Trying to diagnose, when you hit lock or unlock (remote or door switch) when they don't work, you will see them move just a little like they want to come up but they won't. We have also noticed a correlation between heat, if it is hot outside they are much less likely to work and when it is cooler (night) they are more likely to work.

This leads me to believe it is probably the actuators getting weak, but, want to be sure before throwing parts at it. I assume that the actuators get either no volts or 12 volts, is this correct. If so, I should be able to test to see if they are getting the full 12 volts at any time.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
John

We took the door apart and remove the latching mechanism, and tried the lock unlock from the driver panel and the remote. It moves it a little but not enough to lock or unlock.

I may just replace the switch like explicit suggested and see if that helps. I am guessing the chevy dealer will just give me one out of the kindness of their hearts (sarcasm).

Does the remote and auto door lock/unlock work via the switch as well?

Any help as always is appreciated.

Thanks,
John

I've had the same issue for a while. I haven't done anything other than manually lock any of the doors that don't actually lock. I need a new switch panel anyway because the lettering is gone.

Is the switch high probability of being the problem? Dealer wants $39 for the switch.

Do I need to remove the door panel to replace the switch? Any tricks for replacement?

Thanks,
John

I wouldn't see why it would make any difference to be honest. It is only an input panel to the BCM, the BCM has the actual relays in it so that would be where the issue would be.
