Thankfully I haven't been to Dayton is about 20 years. I lived in the little town of Enon from 89-93, while my dad was stationed at Wright-Patt.
If you ever go to Las Vegas, don't stray too far into North Vegas. You will end up dead/robbed/raped/etc.
I remember when I was a kid and lived in Vegas we were in North Vegas at my dad's CO's place while they were working on cars or something, when out of no where this group of guys dressed in all black, wearing ski masks, tactical gear, bullet-proof vests, etc, jump the fence into the yard we are in, look at us and motion "shhh". They jumped the fence to the next house, and then all hell breaks loose. A few gun shots, flash-bang grenades, etc, then silence. A minute later you hear sirens and the hooded dudes are gone.
They were a group of "vigilantes", mostly ex-cops, ex military, etc that went around taking down crack houses. They called themselves The Nasty Boys. They would use the "zip-tie handcuffs" to secure the bad guys, then call the cops once the place was secure. IIRC there was a TV series that came out and they followed them around, similar to Cops.
But yeah, stay away from North Vegas.
