• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

In the last 10 years in my town we have had a F 150 4X4, Camaro SS, a Bonneville, a Mustang, a Dodge Dynasty, a Silverado SS, Maurader. But they say it's for public safety....... What a bunch of liars. A cop car alone makes people slow down.

Though these vehicles may say POLICE on them, they are not true police units. You will not see these vehicles pulling over cars or responding to emergencies. These are vehicles that are typically seized from the owner as a result of some type of drug bust. They are then used as public service vehicles generally taken to schools and special events to show children, parents, the general public, the importance of keeping off of drugs. They are outfitted with lights, usually surplus lights from retired police vehicles, and painted with the DARE logo in bold print on the vehicle. It also is to rub in the face of the people who used to own the vehicles. They generally do very little time in jail but it pisses them off because the vehicle they used to own is driven all over town and is owned by the local municipality. Though the Jeep may not make a big impression, but when a high profile car gets seized, it can make a big statement. I've seen a Porsche 911, Hummer and not too recently a Grand National painted this way and making its ways around the schools. Google pictures of DARE vehicles and you will see all types.

one of our neighboring cities has an 02 corvette convertible for a dare car. It's not my car but i'm pissed that they'd do that to some really sweet cars.
