Thinkin I might find Zoe a new home. Once school starts she'll be kenneled all day and I don't think that's good for her.

my dog did 8 to 10 hours a day, crated for the first 2 years of his life. its all routine to them after a while.

i trained my dog so when he went in his crate, he got a cookie, he got so used to the whole deal after a few months, if he saw my shoes getting put on, he went into the crate. he knew i was leaving and he would now get a cookie. i shut the crate and leave.

never make a big deal about leaving either, just leave, no good bye's.

its the first few months where they cant be locked up to much because of the bathroom needs of a pup. after that they can hold it longer and longer. i think my guy was 4 months when he was holding it up to 8 hrs. but he was also 50 lbs by then also lol.

if i were you, i would get rid of her. school's gonna be stressful and then youll be working too? how the eff are you going to take care of another animal when you barely have time for yourself?

I hear ya Scotty, but I had originally said no to the dog anyway, my dad sorta pressured her on me. I shoulda stuck with my gut.
And I'm agreeing with Matt, I barely have time for myself. She's making me crazy, when I come home I just want peace. But in all honesty, once school starts plus work (potentially both jobs) I could be on the verge of snapping and I hate to take it out on Zoe. For a dog to be in a kennel from 6am to 8pm at night is unfair. That's not a life.

I have a co-worker, whose mom might be interested in taking her. So I'm pulling for that.

yeah i hear ya. at least you looking at the right way, the pups best interest. 6am to 8 pm is way to long for a pup.

Love it when my boss says 6:30 and he don't roll his ass outta bed till 6:45. If I do that he's long gone but here I sit still. Fml. This is gonna be a long ass day.
