i understand there is hood. i live in memphis. i am a white minority, but i cannot stand for blacks to get a bad name, its just not right. its a stereotype. 90% of the paternal side of my family is "thugs." they cheat, they lie, they steal, they dress like crap, they're drugged up. i have nothing to do with them. my cousins calls me the N word, im like dude, no. stfu.

i mean, most of my friends in high school were black, and there were HUNDREDS that were far from thugs, some were "whiter" than i was. some have been my significant other. so i dont like hearing this mess is all.

but if you wanna go somewhere, ill take you to south memphis. not a nice place. i wont hardly drive through there, god forbid i break down...

but look up Memphis' crime rate, we're in the top 10, if not the top 5.

i've grown comfortable in the hood, i live in north memphis which is bad, but not as bad as south memphis or some other parts.

but Wiki says 62.6% African American.

and im trying to find the stats on crime. one website said #2 in the nation for crime. but im searching around a bit first before i say yay or nay.

i totally agree with ya, i've known a lot of black people who didn't talk un educated, listened to rock music, went to school, but then there's the hood rats and losers, and thugs, this goes both ways too, white trash is everywhere. one friend i had a ways back, (black guy) he's like these fools make it hard for the rest of us who want to make a life for our self's, and hes right, still to this day.

yup. well i just hate the generalization that "most blacks are bad" or that "most thugs are black." media has a lot to do with this stigma/stereotype.

now, in my location, the whites around here say it because, well we are a minority, and we see only memphis, thus some assume things about the rest of the world, when in reality it's not true.

i'm just one of those people i look at everybody the same way, i dont see color. now, i do see trash, i see ghetto, and i see gangster, i see all of that. not denying that at all :p
