• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

the actual door. the locks unlocked fine. it opened fine from the inside just a hefty shove. i just didnt wanna pull on our crappy plastic handles and rip it out lol

exactly. thats why pushing in will crack the ice and free it. ( most car doors will move a bit when pushed)

ive busted plenty of handles in the past. freezing rain sucks. live and learn.

You want a better tip for a frozen lock? Rubbing alcohol on the key. The alcohol melts the ice and evaporates the water. And you don't have to worry about the possibility of accidentally damaging the chip in a PK3 key.

yep yep lol. this will be fun times ha

edit: who carries rubbing alcohol with them?

and how many of us carry a lighter? a bit more common. the locks used to freeze on my 03 GMC all the time. wash it in the winter and it was 3 days of frozen locks. i'v used a propane torch to heat the key when i had no lighter, lucky it was in the tool box.

Not a bad idea to get a thing of lock de-icer and keep it in your coat pocket. Before I had a garage, that's what I used to do. That saves the vaseline for more fun applications.
