I have a cold....and we have beans being hauled in today which means I have to page over the intercom.....I have next to no voice. Oh joy.. :-/

if you go to google translator you can type a phrase and it will say it back to you from the pc speakers. lol

Haha. That's a good idea.

I'm getting yelled at because I won't go to the doctor. I don't have a fever so why go? I dislike doctors. I'll get over it just fine without a stupid zpak.
 


what dont kill us, makes us stronger. (so they say) been there done that. being theres no real cure for the common cold, riding it out works all the time.

i kid you not, but as soon as i feel a cold coming on i run and get a bag of cold eeze i swear they work. im pretty sure it kept the head cold i had 3 weeks ago out of my chest.
 
I tried the cold ezee but I think it was to far to do much help. Its in my chest bad. The mucinex commercial where they set up camp in the persons lungs....yeah thats me.
The mucinex isn't working near fast enough for me.
 


Danielle, you done right. In the long run (not to sound like a hippie or anything) antibiotics are gonna work against ya. And like Scotty said there's no cure. You suffer a few days, build immunity, move on.

I only take antibiotics if I'm knockin on death's door step. I hear a lot about how antibiotics are becoming less effective and can't make em any stronger. Just food for thought. I do what Bill and Scotty do, you want your vitamins and minerals and fluids, boost the immune system, and normally I get a sore throat so I have tea with honey. And it's normally once a year, so I think I'm doin alright :)

I had a infected cyst on my cheek about 2 months ago and the doc put me on a antibiotic that was for strep throat....a really aggressive one. Soooo...I took that into consideration in that my body didn't need anymore put in unless I absolutely have to.
I finally got my voice sorta back after lunch, but paging was still hell. And I've started coughing more and that hurts like hell. My throat is so soar.
Mucinex is not working like I wish it was! Boooooo. And it tastes like poooooo. I hate liquid meds, unless it tastes like that bubble gum stuff they give you as a kid for colds. That stuff was awesome.
But I'm surviving.

I've been doing the salt water in the mornings, it helps for a little bit.

I have pills and liquid mucinex. Been doing the liquid more today. I must say, it is helping with the coughing quicker than the pills. Just have to get past that initial poison taste, lol.

I get this one time a year and I swear, it makes me the biggest cry baby.

LOL funny you say that.. remember dimetapp? that stuff tasted like grape koolaid!

but I tell you what burnt me and made me start thinkin about medicines. a urologist I seen one time put me on Cipro. apparently a common drug, but it is black boxed from the fda, well. I took it. I think I had taken the second pill and I felt crazy like I was losing my mind, and some other weird symptoms. started googling it and got HORROR stories, so I think I took one more dose just to put the fears out of my head and the symptoms got worse and I got the weird feeling in my acheeles hill and all that. I called him up was like yep find another pill these are going in the trash. those were "quinolones". I said yep, no more of those bad boys!
 
im a horrible person when im real sick, i feel ya. i went 3 years with out a major cold, like one that keeps me home for 3 days to a week. then last year went and caught one. lets hope i dont get a bad one this year.
