I found one Im sorta interested in. 08 with 57k miles, LT, sunroof, black leather. Its low enough miles I was just wondering if it'd be a good car to persue. The little I've looked online they seem to have the typical leaks and such that all gm motors have.
Opinions basically.

I've done some flipping of the 07-08 Imps this summer/fall. Overall I like the car, motor seems to run well like most of the GM stuff. Like you said, typical leaks etc.

The one thing to watch for is..while it still uses the $t65E that we all love here. The Imp folks complain a lot about bang starts etc which is a lot less common to our cars. Makes me wonder if something in the programming is helping it do it. But the Imps are well known around 100K+ for trans issues. Yet..so are ours.

I probably just need to go drive one and see. I'm ok with typical things that go wrong as they all have issues but didn't want one right off the bat. Its a bit more than I wanted to spend so idk if I can bite the bullet and do it. The car is an hour away. Maybe this weekend can swing over and look at it. They have had it for awhile since the pictures are all snow covered parking lot.

At least the trans is the same so its a familiarity. Dumb question, did the 3.9 sorta replace the 3800? I guess comparable motor?

I wouldn't mind a newer one but they are worth their weight in gold around here apparently. Lee's parents have a '12 but its base model, nasty gold color ext. Put a bad taste in my mouth for the imp so I'm trying to be optimistic in considering them. They don't look to bad if they have the right color combos and options.

IIRC there's a 3500 and the 3900. Basically 3100/3400 variants. Updated etc. Seem peppy and reliable enough. That price though. Ouch. You know me, I'd look for one with an engine or trans issue and swap.

3.5's are super cheap around here. I am talking $250-$350 for low miles. 3.9's are less common and closer to $600 etc.

I know. The price is keeping me leary. I wanna stay under that and I don't think I could talk them down enough. There is a pretty ltz locally but its got 130k. 10 yrs newer and only 15k less miles than my GP. No thanks.

So I did the math and just driving to work and back for a year will put 18k on the car. :/

I wish I had this luxury. Just to work and back I rack up 31,110 miles per year and I have 5 kids in sports so I usually put 45k a year on whatever I am driving.
