• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

I'll see if I can get an answer on the code tomorrow. It's not that hard for them to walk outside and hook a scanner to it and wala...you have a code.
"Look, I know this doesn't fall under your so many point inspection...but I'm coming from 3 hours away and I want to make sure this isn't a deal breaker of a code...so please walk out there hook the scanner to it and call me back with the code, I can do the research."
At first I thought it was just because the key was in the on position, but the RPM's are at idle, so it is running. Who know's. I plan to take the scanner I have along for verification. Lee has a fancier one too we can take.

Does anyone know, is it mandatory that the salesman goes with you on test drives or can you request that they not go along? I hate it when they ride along, don't get any alone time with the car. I want to be able to do as I wish with it and not be afraid to because they are in the car.
They are a no commission sales team, so maybe they don't care and will leave me alone with it.

Also, did all GXP's have remote start? I'm assuming it does but I can't see the key fob in the picture so I'm not sure.

And the thing I love most about it...it doesn't have tint. So that means I can do the tint to my liking and know its good quality stuff and not some crappy purple looking tint. I'll take a tint-less car any day over one with tint that I didn't have done. Picky, I know. Kinda like how I have to have a sunroof. My money, I don't think it's to much to ask for the options that I want the vehicle to have.

I think I'll call and set an appointment tomorrow for Wednesday. Lee made it sound like take the trailer and trailer it back, but idk. I'm not trading my car in on it.
I'll have a small loan on it but can have it paid off quick enough to ditch it should something go wrong. And I have monies saved to aid in trans replacement should that time come.

I've always wanted one. It'll be a fun car to keep me happy for a few years.

its really about time or money what do you have more of time or money?

Yeah I saw the accident part last night. The pictures look like its ok in that corner and the bags weren't deployed. It carries a clean title. If it was a crappy job, I'm sure 4 years later, it would be showing signs...I would hope?

I wrecked my G6 and you can't tell to this day. As long as the bags weren't deployed and its straight and clear title, I'm ok with it. I will not buy a rebuilt title tho.

Unless it's a really expensive car I've never had a salesman ride with me.. After all they'll ask to see your license and usually your insurance as well. I don't need some guy preaching to me about what features a car has when I usually know more about that specific vehicle then they do plus I like to test a vehicle to make sure there isn't some hidden issue. I'm sure you and Lee will be able to tell if the repair was done incorrect. One thing to make sure you test the trans out good since that where the potential expensive problems lie.

Haha...I have no time right now...and money, well...it doesn't grow on trees around here but what's new.
Wednesday is the clearest day as of now for me to slip away from work for 1 day. I got lucky, seed stock season hasn't gotten "balls to the wall" yet.

Some places they go with you some don't. My dad when we would test drive a car from CL, he would give the guy the keys to the car we drove up in at collateral. Even tho it was our Truck or my moms Trans Am and way not worth it.

Also Eric I lack the coin for that build.

Ding ding ding...exactly my thoughts. I'm glad I'm somewhat familiar with the car just from reading people's threads on here. So hopefully my gut feeling won't let me down.

Plus your"ll have whatever vehicle you drove there at the dealer so in case you did take off..there's the collateral. When I bought the GP I kept it for a few days to drive as well as had the local shop check it out for any potential problems. Most places won't mind you doing so especially if they're not hiding anything and want the sale.

Check for the common rust area even though 04s+ tend to not have all the problems the previous gen had. Make sure the trans shifts good. Watch the temperature as well. Check the fluid also. Besides that all the basic things you'll check when looking at potential buys.

Have the GXP's been known for oil leaks/antifreeze leaks? I guess I haven't paid much attention or heard of anyone dealing with that like the 3.8's do.
Lee has a 99 Silverado with the 5.3 in it and has had NO problems with it in the 8 years he's had it.

Every used car I have ever test drove I have never had a salesman ride with me. I test drove a 2G Talon or Eclipse one time several years ago and the salesman threw the keys at me and just said, "Bring it back in one piece." LOL

I haven't even had a salesman ask to see my license or insurance.

Not drinking tonight. Backed off a little. Only got one beer left and it is a little old. Might finish it tomorrow when my brother comes over to hang out though.

I'll probably start drinking beer again more as the weather gets warmer though. :D
