This made me think you meant soldering bulbs in, not a blue cover. If the DIC works but you can't or can barely see it, thats the back lighting. Those bulbs plug in on a 99.
 


An old DIC backlight bulb here. Twist to lock. I need to change one in my GTP, may do how-to if I can't locate a previous one by searching.

Scotty probably can tell us how big a pile 20 tons of trap rock looks like.. Being that one is sitting here.. yup, it's a big ole pile
