Re: Post Whoring Thread 3.0.1 - Bill loves Drunkie long time
I find it fun to mess with coworkers and bosses.
The other day I told the big boss that the pee-on's thought role clarity was about as clear as a murky muddy pond. He followed up asking why no one else had told him this, my reply "no one else has the guts."
That led to him showing up in a couple of meetings....and actually clearing things up a bit. That was after my boss mentioned to me that big guy didn't appreciate the way I delivered the message.
My feeling is.. don't ask me, and I won't tell you.
LOL Reminds me of when I worked for this conveyor belt manufacturer. The GM thought the world of himself. He thought he was better than everybody and thought he was smarter than everybody. Most of the employees in the company had worked for him for many, many years through that company as well as through a previous one most of them had left. Anyway, we occasionally had to apply glue and a V-guide to these very large belts. Because of their size we couldn't use the normal methods to do so, so we applied it by hand.
The GM decided he didn't like it being done that way so he came up with this idea to use a "track" system, where a modified belt sander ran along the track and would first apply the glue, then go back and the heat gun attached to it and had a guide for attaching the V-guide. The first time we used it we knew it was a terrible idea, but we had to use it when he was around or else we'd get our ass chewed.
One day I was doing something else and other guys were putting some guide down on one of those belts and he was standing there arms crossed looking all proud like he was king sh!t. He asked me, "So what do you think of my little creation there?"
I responded, "The old way was better." He looked at me in silence and his jaw dropped. I continued, "This way takes at least twice as long and it takes one extra person. With the old way we could do it with two people and be done in 30 minutes. This way is inefficient."
He looks at me and says, "Well this way is more consistent so we are going to keep doing it this way" and he stormed off all pissed.
One of the other guys was nearby and heard the conversation. He walks to me and says, "You know Vernon doesn't like it when people don't agree with him." I said, "Then Vernon needs to learn not to ask for people's opinion."
