This clutch plate seems..... Past it's prime, let's say.

Brandon, those look like third if I remember the clutches properly. Third is often smoked up.

Bill, I should have put something in the picture for scale. That's actually the top friction of the 2nd clutch pack. I'm not sure if the Venture and Silhouette programming is the same, but I can say, our '04 Silhouette has a 0.433 second 1-2 commanded shift time. I'm sure that, plus the fact that this core came out of a fleet vehicle (airport shuttle probably) contributed to the excessive (0.135"+) wear.

I focused too much on the inner shape, than the outer. Had I paid attention, the outer gives it away as 2nd.

I don't foresee that being a problem in the minivan. Haha! I did however tighten up the 3rd clutch pack as well. Both 2nd and 3rd set at just over 0.035".

It just seems like a huge waste. I literally pulled it out of the plastic wrap, threw the book in the recycling bin and the plastic in the trash. It never even made it in the house.

Yea, they should send out mailings with bills so people have to request the phone books.
