Re: Post Whoring Thread 3.0.1 - Bill loves Drunkie long time

you shouldnt have any object in your body. one time i had a rock in my leg it left a really nasty hole in my leg thats when i was 14. i never knew it was there tell i looked at my calf and was wtf is that? a rock? lord knows were i got that from. at that time i was drinking 1 gallon of milk a week so it may have been from the milk so idk

Re: Post Whoring Thread 3.0.1 - Bill loves Drunkie long time

I agree with everything you said cause that's the crap I deal with at my job. Safety glasses work 98.3% of the time.

What's strange is I have a BB in my neck as well. I wanted them to take it out but they said it would've caused more damage to take it out so they left it in. "Its just shrapnel" they said. Now if I get injured and I'm unconscious, they aren't gonna know I have a BB in my neck if they do an MRI. I think I'm gonna talk to another doctor.

Well its a small world ain't it? Andy died of an aneurysm after strokes, unrelated in case thats RIP spooked ya. 3 packs a day it was. But the BB was the same story, the area is too delicate to merit the risk of extraction especially after the wound closes. I reckon it'll depend on who you ask but no idea how to tell the good guy doc from the one who wants to do whatever you say you want done so he can have a payday. Permanent stuff like a crooked wrist or BB in neck is definitely a mental um... hurdle to accept. I know I don't want my arm cut in half just so they can straighten my ulna, just sayin. Neck, whew.

I can go all day with safety glasses but rarely need to. Sanding bondo or pouring paint you really need goggles.

Have a clean and scratch free pair of safety glasses, and you'll often forget they're there. And they have to be comfortable obviously, luckily the $1 3m glasses I got are surprisingly comfortable on my face.

Re: Post Whoring Thread 3.0.1 - Bill loves Drunkie long time

Amen to that, I think my safety glasses are from some training course I had. Many times a full face shield is in order.

Still waiting for saurus AKA one eye to report back. Hope it wasn't that mower crankshaft whizzin by.

Blue, on that last runner he must have been going for a record. I don't know if you're using WMM or what to make clips for PB but if you are... I've found clicking the youtube quality setting and keeping it to 10 sec makes it nowhere near as bad on processing wait. FWIW.

Re: Post Whoring Thread 3.0.1 - Bill loves Drunkie long time

I am using a video converter program that has the option to trim and reduce the size of videos. I'm uploading like 3mb files, YouTube processes those in minutes

Re: Post Whoring Thread 3.0.1 - Bill loves Drunkie long time

Yeah when I've uploaded larger vids to PB I'm reminded that the P in PB is a P not a V. I do need a better vid host site.

Re: Post Whoring Thread 3.0.1 - Bill loves Drunkie long time

I have to use a full face shield cause I cut metal all day and grind that crap too. I pretty much have to wear a full face shield because I wear glasses. I would go back to contacts but IK for a fact that the mist/metal particles would get into the contacts sooner or later and that's an infection waiting to happen. Might go Lasik due to the rave reviews but worried about the monthly bills.

im thinking about lasik too im just worried about them messing up and taking away my vision

Re: Post Whoring Thread 3.0.1 - Bill loves Drunkie long time

I really hate safety glasses. They seem to "distort" my vision. I've gotten more debris in my eyes wearing safety glasses than not wearing them.

The worst one was when I was cutting a piece of particle board with a circular saw. A random piece flew out the saws exit and went right past my safety glasses and into my eye. I immediately stopped and had to get help to get the piece out.

Re: Post Whoring Thread 3.0.1 - Bill loves Drunkie long time

Rust/dirt falling off vehicles seems to get in my eyes worse with safety glasses lol. I think because without them, I'm constantly making an effort to stay away from where its falling, and to keep my head down. With them on I think I'm safe, and end up with more dirt in my eyes

Re: Post Whoring Thread 3.0.1 - Bill loves Drunkie long time

But....Goggles look silly..

Yeah sometimes those are what I need

Re: Post Whoring Thread 3.0.1 - Bill loves Drunkie long time

Dish the story, it sounds like a lesson best learned in one's youth. Hope it was a near miss, not a partial hit or a chemical splash. Had my share of close calls and they suck worst when you need a magnet lol.
Was using a sawzal to cutup garage doors, chuck of metal went flying up and almost went into my eye, it was probably 1/4 of a cm from being pretty bad. I dropped the saw and put on glasses after that.

Re: Post Whoring Thread 3.0.1 - Bill loves Drunkie long time

Good deal. I had a close encounter with a jigsaw, sawzall is like the jumbo version. Safety first always. Glasses do let stuff past and goggles do look goofy. Less so than an eye patch, which might pick up more chix lol

Re: Post Whoring Thread 3.0.1 - Bill loves Drunkie long time

jig saws cut on the up stroke, and your looking right over the blade most of the time. sawsall the blade is facing down most of the time and your eyes are behind the blade.

i hate flying junk. had many close calls.
