If only it wasnt raining....

i was thinking the same thing, bottom just dropped out here... ive never posted a walk around of my car... but my lil 10's do some pretty hefty flexing from trunk, doors, sunroof, wiper blades, windshield etc etc for being 10's on 500 watts.

granted ur firing forward, mine are to the rear... they flex as much as ur 12's on 3 6 mafia late night tip.

anyone else have a problem with the trunk lock making a lot of noise ?

Hey guys, got a sort of random question but since this seems to be the "audio equipment" thread, has anybody heard of SRI custom sub boxes? They are triple band pass boxes that used to be made in Missoula, and they are not made anymore, my friends are looking for a 10" one. Oh, and I will post up my system one of these days, it ain't much put about 300 bucks into it all total. Kenwood HU, Kenwood, 200 watt peak 6X9's in the rear (50 RMS if I remember right) stock up front. Older 10" JL W7 sub in the trunk in a custom ported box. I think the amp is pushin close to 500 watts, not sure though, a friend of mine give it all to me for cheap haha.

triple band pass? Bandpass subs are only catagorized by orders, and they're all even order.

The Subwoofer DIY Page

That will explain.

Never heard of this particular one, but band pass boxes have to be designed specifically for the sub you're using.

hhmm... After thinking about it I think they called it a "triple" because there were three ports for the air to come out. My buddy had one year's ago and it got stolen out of his car and now he won't make another system till he finds another one >.<
One more question, I was reading about people using fingernail polish to repair the surround on a sub... has anybody here actually used that? I've got a tear, maybe 1/4" or so, but the material is still there. I pulled the fuse on the fuse holder so it wouldn't get any worse, I would just like to fix it soon, and without having to go buy anything. Thanks for all your help guys!

Three ports is still ported if the drivers are open to air.

Never heard of that trick. Just some clear silicone might help, but you're pretty much boned unless you recone it or somehow find a surround kit.

yeah, it was a weird box, he showed me his 8" one and the design is just crazy... My sub's an older W7, I'm probably gonna replace it here in the next 6 months or so anyways haha. I'm lookin at two Apline type R's... I'm still new to all this but I'm learning slowly!
