Possibly Clogged Converters?

Ok so here's the deal we have a 2004 Grand Prix GTP that ran perfect when we got it, we'll it started acting up and they (it's my sisters car) took literally like 6 months or so to get the proper plugs for it which stopped the horrible misfire but the deal is that the car still doesn't seem to have the power that it used to and we reset the computer codes using the battery but the CEL is still on just no longer flashing, the car has a lot of power as it is but I'm thinking that maybe the CATS are plugged? We tried reading the codes but it never has let us it loads and then gives a loading error.

Good news, your cats are not clogged, bad news, your singular cat is clogged. Misfires destroy cats. Get your nearest exhaust shop to replace it.

That's what I was thinking and sorry wasn't sure if it was singular or plural, but knowing our ways we'll probably just knock the combs out of it if that doesn't work we'll get a new one and thanks for the response

lol wut.

Autolite 606's. Gap the plugs @ .050" and never worry about them.

Get generic lifetime warranty plug wires, and clean the coil pack terminals as well.

Get a 2.5" or 3" catted downpipe from ZZPerformance. Take it to a shop and have them install it if you can't with a jack and hand tools. It'll be cheaper anyways.

Ok so recently as in like the last 2 days the car has started spitting and sputtering again and one thing that I would think points to the converter being melted is that it constantly tries to overheat on the interstate or just idling and this is with the heat at FULL BLAST, but if your coasting down a back road with the heat at about half it runs at normal temp. It's also back to where 9/10 times when you crank it up you have to give it gas for a second to keep it running

Did you read this?

Or did you just not read it?

I did but my sister just decided to get rid of the car, it was running perfectly fine this morning around 6 am it had loads of power, actually didn't try to get hot on me, no problems at all, well she was on her way to come get me from work and the car she said wouldn't start for the longest time it would just spin over, well it cranks up now but is showing "Reduced Engine Power", I've literally never seen a car with so many issues in a one year time span, I personally love the car but not enough to be constantly fixing stuff on it, especially when I had an accord 2.3 that was 5 years older with 368,xxx miles on the original engine and transmission, the only problem that car ever gave me was my battery going out that's literally the one and only issue and I drove that little Honda pretty hard my sister drives the GTP like a soccer mom, I don't see a reason for the AT LEAST 6 major issues this car has had in a year.

Btw, there were about 11 hours in between the time I drove it at 6 a.m. to the time she was supposed to pick me up which was 5:30 pm

They're known issues and the car was apparently neglected and had the sh1t run out of it.

Failing converters, vacuum leaks, typical tune up like plugs/wires/PCV/fluid/filters is all a common thing. But continuously driving a car with known problems is hysterical to the max.

Don't blame the car for beating it day in and day out and not taking care of it.

It also doesn't make 67 horsepower like the Honda did, either.

Solid ending.

No I guess not and yeah the Honda wasn't a fast car but there's no need to knock it, 148 hp in 2.3 liters on an SOHC, doesn't seem very bad at all to me for a family & economy based sedan, and yes I know they're bad on cars but that's not exactly the point, the rear sway bar mount literally broke on the right side while we were sitting still at a gas pump, the left side very soon after, the brake rotors were rusted through so bad that big chunks about the thickness of a quarter deep were taken out of them as we saw while changing the brake pads, the heater core hose or whatever the coolant hose is that's right below the supercharger pulley busted and was spraying water on the belts, the radio display doesn't work even since before we got the car, the OBD2 port has never allowed us to read the codes, the high fans will not kick on for some reason whatsoever, the dash display randomly pops up check fuel cap every other day and its on right everytime, the misfire issue which yes I know they took way too long to address but I tried putting similar plus in it that were brand new just temporarily until they bought the correct ones and had to swap back to the bad plus because the car started surging and backfiring after it warmed up yes it now had the right plugs along with new wires and it no longer misfires, the bundle of wires that lead out to the cars electronics from the Computer somehow weren't in their little clip so the entire bundle of wires in their black wrap were stuck between the supercharger belt and I Believe the coil packs or some kind of Mount there anyways it got wedged and I didn't notice until around 8 of the wires were nearly rubbed in half that needed to be fixed, the car didn't want to start what so ever yesterday, now it cranks and runs perfectly fine but is showing "reduced engine power" for some reason, although it does seem to have a slight surge when you're maintaining RPMS idk what it's doing now, I loved this car but Idk it is from the north after all, whole underside is rusted pretty good

No I said she has decided to get rid of it that doesn't mean it's already gone, and oh I'm sorry I didn't always very am A+ on my report cats for English like in just so sure you did cheatah faheatah, but oh wait look at that you would literally NEVER spell either of those words like that.
