how does the steering wheel come off? i want a thicker on out of the 02/03's or even better if the newer 04wheels cans bolt in thatd be sweet any help?

You have to disconnect the battery, wait at least 10 min. and then there are 4 10mm nuts on the back of the steering wheel, they hold the air bag in. From there you pull out the air bag and you see the clock spring, take it out and then a nut holding the steering wheel on and then you use a steering wheel puller to take it off. Simple.

thanks for this info, last trans me and my friend put in.. steering knuckle came loose, steering wheel made several free turns and set airbag light.. clock spring is culprit. just never knew how to fix it. didnt really bother me too bad to make a thread or search.

Yea you have to make sure that the steering wheel is centered when you put it on. Usually when i disconnect the rack i lock the steering wheel in place and do not move it. You most likely snapped the clockspring.

yea its definitely snapped. i turned the wheel 3-4 times in WTF mode not realizing bout that stupid spring.
