Possible oil issue?

Recently, the past 2 days, after my car sits for like a few hours, I go to start it and the low oil level light comes on. I shut off the car and turn it back on and the light shuts back off.

Oil was full every time I checked and not a drop of oil anywhere that I can see.

The car did it twice and then I did an oil change.

Oil is still full, and the car still does this. I put in a new oil level sensor when I swapped engines in early May.

Thoughts?

I'll have to get some time to get it up on ramps to check and do some other things while under there.

During my oil change I looked at the wiring quickly and it looked fine, wiggled it and nothing came undone or changed. So I'll have to check closer as soon as I can

You know the level is good. Hence something is lying to you. I've had bad sensors before. I think you can simply unplug and smile.

I think of it this way. Most cars produced didnt' get all the bells that we did.

Most didn't get an idiot light for oil pressure and ours is pretty worthless at 5psi or less.
Most didn't get an oil level sensor, and ours is pretty worthless since very few of us ever see that light come on.
Most didn't get a coolant level sensor in the radiator, and that's totally worthless because it gets goopy and gives a bad reading more often than a good one.

I came from the Bonneville world so most of them seemed redundant with the other gauges on the dash.

Oil pressure - so why did I need an idiot light at 5psi? (Yes Bonnies have a real gauge)
Coolant temp - I'd notice if the gauge started climbing and check coolant level (this was unplugged in a thicker core rad I went with later on)
Oil level - Turbo guys pull this to put the return line into the pan.

New question. Will a thermostat being stuck open cause knock?

I had a thermostat stuck open and at WOT I would see up to 5.7* ish of knock but now I see less than 1.6* o.O

Oh. Well I have much less knock now tht I replaced my thermostat, removed the metal covers from the spark plug boots, and put brand new AL 104's all gapped to .050

So one of those things lowered my knocm quite a bit
