Possible ignition switch

Neighbor kids 02 GP GT L36.

Car had occasional issues with not starting. Would start with remote starter each time and it appeared the ignition switch was the cause. Bypassed that with DHP by disabling the theft deterrent in the pcm. Recently the DIC dash etc is flickering and the blower appears to cut in and out with the flickering.

I'm thinking it's the ignition switch and planning to look up diagnostics for it so see if I can confirm before shotgunning on in.

I'm open to suggestions or confirmation that it's a swtich. I'm pretty sure it is.

I've heard of the ignition switch causing odd issues like the blower not working along with not starting.

It doesn't start sometimes?

It was triggering the theft deterrent this past summer. I've bypassed that via tuner.

And told her that likely it was the switch. This is probably the second round and time for the switch to be replaced. Basically looking for confirmation, you know.

Sounds like what my '02 GTP is doing. No HVAC, no DRL, the DIC is dead. This a few random minutes later it starts working. A buddy at work had the same issues on his Regal. He took it in and they replaced the ignition switch & wire harness (it comes as one assembly) and charged him $400. Problem solved!
Except I don't want to spend $400. So I came across this

and have all the parts ready to go but haven't had time to do it. Hopefully later this week.

hey bill back when i had my issue with the blower motor not working it was def my ignition switch bad.. go to th steering column and pull down the cover to gain access to the ignition switch harness.. tap the brown wire into the yellow.. im pretty sure its the yellow.. basically you just need to apply 12volts to the brown wire.. thats how i knew my ignition switch was bad cause my heat and dic worked when i was finished

Thanks for the added info. I did the BINB fix with a relay of the power to the orange wire. The car is missing a couple of speeds. I'll try it out.

So far the flickering and odd behavior had stopped.
