Possible Double Din Dash for 97-03's GP's

Just letting all you know that I have contacted a vendor on one of the ls1 forums about doing a custom double din dash for the 97-03 grand prix's. He replied to my email and said it is possible to do a custom dash. All he needs is to purchase a dash so he can work on it. The place I contacted is called double d mods. They do custom double dash bezels for the f-body and vette communities.

I will not post their actual site since they are not a vendor but search double d mods to see the site.

I mentioned that there may be some interest on the message board as well.

I will be contacting him by phone. I will keep this thread updated.

I will delete this thread if it violates any of the forum rules.

Some of their work.

That would be awesome. I have a car computer that I made for my Eclipse Spyder and it was 2 DIN and I can't fit it in this GP. I'm not a fan of the fiberglass look as it wouldn't look stock. If it looks like the first Camaro pic then I'm in.

I've debated about modding mine and then either painting the pieces Silvermist to match the body or wrapping in CF as an accent. Either way, the Double D's do look good when done right. It would be nice if someone actually marketed them for those that want a navigation unit in the cars without having to risk messing up the original dash panel.

Dennis at double d mods said that they can do it. I just never sent him a dash bezel to work with. I decided to put money into something else. Contact Dennis and he will take care of you. They do have a photo in their gallery of a grand prix dash. This is what it looks like.

You can do it yourself, its not that hard. You just have to be VERY careful. Don't want to ruin it and have to buy a replacement to do the work all over again.

i would love to buy one but $100+ for a modified piece of plastic is way to much.

but i also dont want to ruin it trying to do it myself.
