Possible belt slippage at higher rpm?

NOTE: Most of these numbers are guesses because the problem isn't repeatable and has been observed at random.

Sometimes I go to pass someone around 55mph and give it enough gas to get boost and a downshift but not just stomping the gas, I reach 75mph or so near the upper RPM range and it feels like it's mis-fireing, but not... More like the rev limiter is hit and it's cutting out.

I usually drive to work with all gauges turned off and only using the HUD. Monday I went t work at noon so I got to see the gauges when it occurred. When it did it, I noticed I was only at 4500rpm.

I can HEAR the supercharger whine skipping when this happens, and that is the only real symptom I can actually note, but boost cutting on and off is a scary feeling. When it does it, I always let off gas right away though.

64k miles, likely original belt, stock engine except open cone. Been 25F-35F lately.

have you tried another belt then? i dont think the stock SC tensioner is bad but it could be a possibility... if you are having misfires and rpms drop the sc wont spin as fast and would spin slower...

Lol. You car isn't baller enough to slip the belt yet.

That's traction control, my man. Turn it off if you wanna racekar.

I doubt TCS is kicking on with a stock car at any speed above 40...let alone highway runs...

Could be numerous things...vac leak, misfire from a bad plug/wire/coil...cat could be on its way out...

There are no codes stored or lights being thrown at any time, does that rule out misfire at all? It isn't TCS for sure. RPMs didn't *appear* to drop, just the SC whine stuttering.

Cat dying may be a thought, as when I got the car 4 months ago I *thought* I could smell the rotten egg smell sometimes, but has since went away.

Remove plugs.

Inspect them...

If they have never been done then they might just need changing and the miss might be so slight that it isn't picking it up? Have you checked your vacuum lines as well for checks splits...tears?
