Porting Heads. Suggestions Welcome

honestly, unless you know what you're doing, and have a flow bench (and ultimately how the car accelerates) to quantify results, you're wasting your time. it looks shiny, but won't give you more performance - which is what you want.

i worked extensively on a port - port match, straighten walls, bowl work, short turn radius - only to have it flow no more than stock! and then an experienced porter (who usually works on v8), within an hour, achieved excellent flow:th_wtf:. there's a reason we pay porters good money for the results they give us. taking a course to learn to port properly costs thousands of dollars.

^^^ so just pay a shop like dover to do them? im asking because i have to do headgaskets and might as well have heads worked while the check them

ok cool, i just called the shop here and they said dont waste your time pnp heads on 3.8 its no power to be gained if not an all out race engine. so i guess pm info please....

yea them, top notch place.

and there is ALWAYS a gain in p&p heads, if done correctly. even people that take a drimel to there own heads pick up gains.

ok cool i wonder what the ticket runs for lol, im scared to call and get a number i dont feel like paying smh im broke until my number falls lol(i be a lotto stud then)

yea i dont know what prices run, but if i was to pay someone it would be them.

im porting my own heads, but for the valve job ill probably send the heads to them.
