Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

ported exhaust manifolds

Yea that dont sound right with your mods and you knocking. You should be knock free or close to it. I dont know if I'm knocking or not. I dont have a scan gauge I plan on getting one. Money is just tight at the moment. All I have on the car at the moment is my K&N intake, plog, crossover and downpipe. I see only 5-6 psi when getting on it and jumps to 7-8 before shift and thats with performance shift on....Is that ok or bad?
I keep on thinking about the headers. But after all the stories I heard about putting them in is a nitemare...
Yea what you said about who ever buys the parts wouldnt get them till they come off would have to be since I dont have any of the stock parts anymore.

My tune is not horrid, it's damn near perfect. A/F is currently at 11.0 while getting the KR, I've tried going richer but I have to run it pig rich to get it to go away, it's not the tune.

I don't run a cat either so that's not clogged. I'm getting rid of the stock catback and putting on a glasspack, so we'll see what that does. If it doesn't help I'm out of ideas.

Ok just saying. Have you tried porting anything to help them out alil bit. I know porting the charger case helps with knock and outlet temps. Just tring to help. I have to get money to buy the headers before anything else. You know what I mean....

Did you flip your sway bar? How do you know it is true and not false knock?

Yea I forgot about that. Ok if I do go with headers what kind of clamps should I use? Band clamps? straight 2 1/4 or the step down style? What about the regular exhaust clamps or do those just suck? I know I would need the sealer stuff. But you put the clamp half on the header and half on the crossover

no hostility guys, just stating the facts. :th_thumbsup-wink: My swaybar is already flipped. I know it's knock because:

1.) I ran octane booster and it went away.
2.) when I pull timing it goes away.
3.) It's consistent and always occurs at the top of 2nd.
4.) I'm the ****. :th_nanana: Just kidding.....no but really. :th_jester:

Ok so you did you home work and you know what you talking about. Has anyone welded the speed daddy headers or that just a bad idea all together?

I do like the pacesetters and the leak problem with them isnt a big thing. But the are twice the price of the speed daddy headers and I'm limited on money right now.
What kind of band clamps do I get? straight or step down style?

I used the stepped ones but others have had success with the straight ones as well. I reused my stock manifold gaskets as well. Here's a couple tips: pick up 2 quarts of trans fluid; buy some new bolts they sell them at autozone, reusing the 2 end studs helps guide the header into place (I had trouble lining my up without them); my #3 primary was making contact with my fan wiring, flipped the dogbones, no more problems; oh yeah, the rear header goes in from the top, don't be surprised if you have to remove you map and evap.

What size step down ones did you use? If I get headers I'm gonna get the speed daddy ones. Why would I need new bolts for? I'll have to get a new gasket from the gm dealer for the front header. I was told that the rear header is a pain in the ***. Then about the tranny fluid? Whouldnt I just have to bend the tube

Yea I'll prolly just reuse the stock gaskets and then those band clamps that you said. Other then that alot of rtv on those joints.

Whats the easiest way to get the rear header in? I have a feeling that one is gonna be the ***** to do? Or a few options to get it done.

The rear header goes in from the top. With the dog bones out, one guy up top, one down below, you might be able to squeeze it in. I had to remove my evap and map sensor bracket which only took an extra minute.

Lol how about a girl on top or bottom then the guy.:th_winking:
Is that the easiest way to install them? or is there a easier way?
