Pontiac addiction??

Mirraco

One BadAzz GT Dawgg
I think ive gotten the pontiac addiction..

Ive had 5 grand prixs now since 2012.

A 2000 with 150k, a 2005 with 119k, one i have now a 01 with 58k, a 00 with 171k, and a 04 with 166k..

Is it the engine, or what guys? I have had a chevy malibu, my first car, and now all ive owned is pontiacs. My whole family has drove pontiacs, my sister has had like 6 of them, has a grand am and g6(which i found and test drove for her, 50K miles later shes still happy), Brother has a g6, other sister had a 98 gtp that i topped out when she was in the car thought i was crazy.. Idk what is it for you guys??? Seems like i found the car thats for me, or atleast the maker(pontiac), or mabey i have went crazy with the pontiacs.

The weird thing is, is that when i went and found my first grand prix, i remember telling my brother on the way to look at it "I hate those pontiacs with the holes in the headrest" Ended up that i love these cars.

Best picture i have of all of this:

My 01 gt with 58k miles, my 00 gt with 171k miles(i sold), my 04 gt2 with 166k miles(selling atm)

I had the chance to get ANY new ride 3 weeks ago, I somehow managed to end up back in a Pontiac....WITH A V8!!! :th_jester:

I understand though, I have one friend with a GTP...now he owns my old GTP....Crazy huh!!!

I'd own 3 gp's if I could lol. I like the platform, especially since I'm very familiar with it. Cheap, reliable, and when they do break down, they're easy to fix. Plus they have the best gm v6 from the time. Mine's not fast being n/a, but its got everything else going for it. Engine is very responsive, as well as the trans with a shift kit. You hit the gas and you're going before you know it. A lot of cars aren't like that. And hey at least its fast off the line with my 3.29's. Tires always spin if you don't ease on the gas, even on dry pavement. I do all city driving anyway.

I want to find one that hasn't been beat to ****, or rusted to **** and that the owner doesn't think it is made out of gold.

First car, 73' Pontiac Grand Am, 400cu, Turbohydramatic400, 373's in the rear : )
I qualify for having the love!!! Hahaha...

and oh...

one is for parts, but anyways, its been on the road and driven too. ; )

LOL.. it's not just the Pontiacs thought. For me.. it's been the drivetrain. The rest of the car is fairly similar. I started off with the more optioned Bonnevilles, never cared for the seats in a GP until 04+ (much better) and then found myself in a Buick while the Bonne was being fixed for the umpteenth time.

I almost got a 98 Bonneville Ssei before I got my 97 GTP, but it was in worse shape than my 97 and they wanted more money for it. I think it was $1500.

Damn, and I thought I was the only one with a Pontiac addiction.
I currently own 4 GP's:
-2001 GTP (33,000 miles)
-2001 GTP (95,000 miles)
-2002 GTP (47,000 miles)
-2002 GT (197,000 miles)
and have junked 2 other GP's due to rust and accidents:
-1997 GT (170,000 miles)
-2001 GTP (152,000 miles)
and sold a 1989 SE with 121,000 miles.

There are others who own multiple Pontiacs (Grand Am's, Bonnes, G6's, GTO's) but I am only one I know of owning 4 Sixth Generation GP's.
For the past 17 years, almost all miles I driven have been in a GP, about 436K miles.
Many people tell me that it is time to update to more modern styles. That is my problem: I love the styling of the 6th Gen GP's. Nothing else compares. I spend hours cleaning, repairing, modding and I am convinced the GP w-body is the best car I have ever owned. And reliable transportation is critical to me because I drive about 35,000 miles yearly.
Also, decent fuel mileage, low vehicle cost, reliable, easy to mod, cheap insurance.

I think I cured my addiction. It is/was 3000GT and Stealth's. I have owned my 94 since 02. I have bought and sold/parted about 8 others since then.

Off the top of my head

95 base Stealth
93 3000GT SL
95 3000GT
92 Stealth RT
92 Stealth RT (a different one)
93 3000GT VR4
94 3000GT

I feel like I am forgetting one, but you get the point. I am down to just my 94, but I still occasionally look at others, then realize I barely have a place to park the 94, and it needs work as it is so its not a good idea to buy another.

amen.

im a buick v6 fan

i love the W platform despite its terrors and that its styling went downhill after 96
