Plug?

Can someone please tell me where this connector is supposed to plug into? I saw it just sitting there unplugged, car runs ok though. This is near the alternator.

It's likely for a cali emissions cars, like an air pump.

Well it was cheaper for GM to just make 1 or 2 wire harness's for the car, so on many cars there will be a plug or two that goes into nothing.

Looks like a GT motor, EVAP is on the front.

Only the supercharged cars have the evap in the back and plug in is red.

^^ that's what I was thinking also. Isn't the MAP sensor suppose to be in that area somewhere on the GTP's? But that looks like one of the several "mystery" plugs that just hang. Should be one around your battery area (forgot what it was) and another behind you grilles laying on the bumper support somewhere for the amb temp sensor (iirc).

The connection would be for the soleniod that runs air into the exhaust on a Cali emission car.
