Plug Wires

On a mildly to moderately modified setup, are there really any gains to be had with fancy plug wires?
for example I'll be installing headers and a FSIC soon, and its about time to do my plugs and wires anyways, so just want to get some opinions.

just regular part store wires? (what I've always had good luck with)

nicer wires (acdelco/bosch-can get for about the same price as part store brands if i order from amazon)

or really fancy like MSD/ZZP 8-10mm plug wires.

No.

I hsd MSD's because of the adjustable/moldable boot to bend away from the header primary.

And because they're more durable coming on/off of the car than stockers.

And the red wire adds 34 RWHP.

I had them for over five years.

Never had any issues...even after the million motors I had in my car and the fact that #5 wire was nearly burned all the way through from melting against the primary.

Still no misfires.

Wow. thats crazy haha. It seems like every other time I pull off a stock style wire the inside part is married to the spark plug.

The only reason to go with larger wires is to tuck them and never worry about arching. Other than that..I run lifetime Autolite Pro's or Napa Beldens etc.
