• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

PLOG vs headers.

I've seen many dynos of stock vs headers.
10-15whp gains without a tune or pulley drop is the going rate.

BTW, primaries are measured by O.D.

I've used a downpipe and plog setup on both of my Previous setups and seen little to no kr after tune and downpipe and plog. I'm in the minority that feels like headers and a plog downpipe have the same effect and produce the same results. I can only speak on my vehicles which were tuned by reptile.

None on hand. There was a tiny bit of gains in the mid range (negligible) around peak tq... but peak hp was never more than ~5hp more.
Headers on the other hand were 10-15whp across the entire curve.

I measured the primaries remember it not being as big as advertised

Welcome to the rest of the car world where primaries are measured in OD.

Oh, should have went to the second page before posting.

Ah well.

Grimsin: how is the powerband with SDs? I found they had a better powerband than Pacesetters for a mild top swap. Smaller primaries FTW?

Well I think op has more then enough info to make a decision either way will work comes down to personal preference I think

I never did my topswap so im still with my cai hv3 ,headers cat delete and in car 91 octance tune from overkill. It has a lot more topend

I'm trying to accomplish 300whp. Vs cam tune smaller pulley stuff like that. Zzp says the PLOG can't handle more than 300hp

I bought two 2 1/4" band clamps and two 3" band clamps.
Make sure your transmission dip stick isnt touching the headers and the a/c line.
Sometimes the crossover pipe can be a ***** to get installed.
Some people replace the flex pipe with a double walled flex, I never bothered.

the good thing about the band clamps is, not only they seal better, but if you want to take the headers off some day the pipes will come apart easy cause theres no crush dimples in the pipes from the U clamps.

So what should I go with pacesetter or SD. Idk what kind of work the pacesetter need
